Giving

One of the most tangible ways to see the grace of God in a commitment to the mission is the area of giving.  Each year, the congregation, under the conviction of the Holy Spirit, has sought to increase the church's percentage of giving towards missions.  Currently, Grace has committed 19% of the yearly budget to missions, which includes the Cooperative Program, individual missionaries, and local church planting efforts (among others).

On top of our committed giving through the church budget, a special missions offering is taken up on the Sunday prior to Thanksgiving and designated to a specific mission or ministry.  For the year 2008, the offering is going to our first church plant located in East Lee County.

Giving towards missions is also expressed in many non-formal and varied ways, including the support of our own on the mission field through care packages, letters, and any special need that may arise.

The Gospel

When Jesus asked the question, "Who do you say that I am?" He was asking a question that we all have to answer. As Christians, we have one message to believe and one message to tell--the gospel of Jesus Christ. What God has accomplished for sinners through His Son Jesus Christ in His life, death, and resurrection is not only central to who we are but sufficient for all that we do. If you have never heard of this gospel, we encourage you to consider the two ways to live. In this presentation, you will understand who God is, what He has done, and why it is absolutely necessary for you to turn to Jesus and trust in Him.
