Becoming a Member

On any given Sunday at our Grace gatherings, we will have about the same number of attenders as we have members.  Many who come to worship are seeking for a church to provide robust biblical truth, genuine gospel-centered relationships, and a passionate mission to invest their lives.

Perhaps you may one of the many who have attended or are looking to attend Grace with the prospect of becoming a covenanted member as well.  If that is you, here is the process that we have implemented for those seeking membership among the Grace family:

1.  Express your interest in becoming a member of Grace to one of our pastors.  You will receive a membership packet which includes various information including our confession, church covenant, and guiding convictions as well as core values.

2.  Complete the reading of the information as well as the membership request form and return the completed info either to the church office or one of the pastors who will then schedule a membership interview.

3.  Attend our "Intro to Grace" classes which are offered periodically throughout the year for prospective members.  Dates and scheduling of these classes are typically in the home of pastor Tom Ascol and last 2 hours per class.

4. Participate in the membership interview with the elders of Grace who will listen to your testimony, previous church experience/background, understanding of the gospel and the church, and discuss various practical issues in church life such as discipline, giving, spiritual gifts, etc.

5. If the elders are in agreeement with a recommendation for membership, the recommendation will be made the following Wednesday night to the church family for a vote.

6. The last Sunday of each month, we celebrate the ordinances of baptism and Lord's Supper.  It is also at this time where we formally welcome new members into the church family and have a time of fellowship afterwards.

We are deliberate and intentional throughout the membership process because of our conviction that members ought to be accoutable to God and one another as those who bear evidence of the regenerating work of the Holy Spirit and live as a visible witness of the transforming power of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Because we are confessional, we are theologically pre-committed; because we are covenantal, we are relationally responsible.  With joy and eagerness, it is our desire to provoke one another to love and good deeds and challenge each other to fulfill our calling of being conformed into the image of Christ and making Him known in word and deed.

The PLNTD Network

The PLNTD Network

PLNTD is a decentralized network focused on establishing and multiplying confessional church-planting churches.  We seek to do this through providing rich resources, intentional relationships, and accessible church-based ministries, including assessment, training and coaching. It is our firm conviction that to fulfill the Great Commission inherently means that we must embrace the call to plant churches, and no one else is given that stewardship more than the local church.

The Gospel

When Jesus asked the question, "Who do you say that I am?" He was asking a question that we all have to answer. As Christians, we have one message to believe and one message to tell--the gospel of Jesus Christ. What God has accomplished for sinners through His Son Jesus Christ in His life, death, and resurrection is not only central to who we are but sufficient for all that we do. If you have never heard of this gospel, we encourage you to consider the two ways to live. In this presentation, you will understand who God is, what He has done, and why it is absolutely necessary for you to turn to Jesus and trust in Him.
